Journey of a Lifetime
Sound & Sea Retreat in the Presence of Wild Dolphins

6–13 April 2027
Sataya Reef · Red Sea · Egypt

with Helena Houdová & Adéla Sen

The invitation

Meet the wild
Let your voice come alive

Seven nights aboard a liveaboard safari boat in the wide blue of Egypt’s Red Sea, where voice, breath and ceremony meet the living presence of the ocean.

There will be warm water, shared songs, long exhalations and room to rest. There will be mornings filled with laughter and dance, evenings held by sound healing sessions and moments of bright, unguarded joy that feel a little like falling in love.

With the sea, with dolphins

With life,

With something inside you becoming available again.

This is not a retreat built around heavy transformation.

It is a journey into resonance, presence and celebration.

Mixed international group · Families welcome from age 12 · Retreat held in English with occasional Czech support · International flights not included
The wild encounter

In their ocean
On their terms

Sataya is a wide coral lagoon known as a resting habitat for wild spinner dolphins — Stenella longirostris.

We may find them moving through clear water, turning towards us for a moment, playing among themselves or continuing on a path that has nothing to do with our presence.

Their freedom is not an interruption of the encounter.

It is what makes the encounter real.

THE RED SEA · WILD, FREE, WHOLLY THEMSELVES
We enter
as guests
We enter quietly, following the professional water team and allowing the dolphins to choose their own distance, direction and rhythm. We do not chase, feed or touch them. We leave the reef untouched, and coral, shells, fish and every other part of this living ecosystem remain where they belong.

We enter as guests.

Most days may offer 2–3 guided opportunities to enter the water. Weather, sea conditions, the guidance of the water team and the dolphins themselves determine what each day may bring.

No sighting, proximity or interaction can be guaranteed.

Some people experience the presence of dolphins as play, tenderness or spiritual resonance. Others simply feel the wonder of meeting a wild being in clear water.

We will not tell you what the dolphins should mean.

No interpretation is required.

The gift is the meeting.

Frequency & ancient memory

Dolphins: Carriers of Frequency and Ancient Memory

Dolphins are among the most sonically gifted beings on Earth — living transmitters of sound, frequency, and vibration. Their world is built entirely around resonance, and understanding how they use sound reveals just how deeply attuned they are to the energetic fabric of the ocean.
The Frequencies Dolphins Carry

Author’s perspective · acoustic description and spiritual interpretation.

Dolphins communicate and navigate through several layers of sound:

Echolocation clicks: Dolphins emit rapid clicks ranging from 40 kHz up to 150 kHz and beyond — well into the ultrasonic range, far above human hearing. These clicks map their surroundings in extraordinary detail, allowing them to “see” with sound.

Signature whistles: Every dolphin carries its own unique whistle, typically between 7–15 kHz, functioning as their personal frequency signature — their sound identity within the pod.

Burst-pulse tones: Fast, layered click trains used during close bonding, play, and heightened emotional exchange.

Because so much of a dolphin’s communication happens in ultrasonic frequencies invisible to human ears, dolphins are regarded as high-frequency, crystalline beings — carriers of vibration that operate on a level far beyond ordinary human perception.

The Lemurian Connection

Spiritual and poetic interpretation. Lemuria is not established history.

Dolphins carry the vibrational memory of Lemuria, the ancient civilization that flourished long before recorded history in the Pacific waters. Lemuria was a culture built on harmony, telepathy, and sound — its people lived in resonance with nature and used tone and frequency as their primary technology, long before spoken language became dominant.

When Lemuria’s landmass receded beneath the ocean, its wisdom didn’t disappear — it transferred into the beings who remained fluent in frequency: the dolphins and whales. These cetaceans became living libraries of Lemurian sound consciousness, carrying forward ancient tonal wisdom into the present day. This is why dolphins are so often felt to have a calming, activating, or awakening effect on humans — they are transmitting frequencies that reconnect us to that original, harmonic blueprint.

Sound healers and energy workers use this connection as a foundation for dolphin-inspired sound therapy, tapping into the same vibrational intelligence that Lemurians once mastered.

Fun Facts About Dolphins

From the supplied manuscript. These claims await editorial fact-checking; the passage about dolphin-assisted birth is not established medical guidance.

Dolphin-assisted birth: Mothers who labor near dolphins report calmer, gentler births. The dolphins’ echolocation frequencies interact with the body in ways that ease pain and soothe both mother and baby during the birthing process.

They have names: Each dolphin’s signature whistle acts as its name, and dolphins recognize and respond to each other’s whistles even after decades apart.

They sleep with half their brain: Dolphins rest one hemisphere of the brain at a time, keeping one eye open so they can keep swimming, surfacing, and breathing while resting.

Their hearing is three-dimensional: Dolphin echolocation is precise enough to detect a fish’s air-filled swim bladder buried under sand, or distinguish between two nearly identical objects.

They pass down culture: Some dolphin pods teach their calves to use sea sponges as tools, protecting their snouts while foraging along sharp coral reefs — knowledge passed from generation to generation.

They form deep emotional bonds: Dolphins grieve, build lifelong friendships, and babysit each other’s calves, reflecting the same emotional depth and social intelligence found in Lemurian culture itself.

Dolphins are frequency incarnate — beings whose entire existence is woven from sound, resonance, and ancient memory. As descendants of Lemuria’s harmonic wisdom, they continue to carry that original vibration through the oceans today, offering humans a living connection to one of the most sound-attuned civilizations the Earth has ever known.

Sound · Celebrate · Connect
The whole journey will be filled with play. We will sing and sound a lot. to ourselves and with dolphins. We will celebrate life.
01 /

sound

Your voice is breath made audible.

A hum felt through the face. A tone moving through the chest. A song shared without performance.

Your voice is not reserved for singers.

It is an instrument you already carry.

02 /

celebrate

Joy is not a distraction from depth.

Warm water, music, play and a meal shared after swimming.

The simple pleasure of feeling present enough to enjoy what is here.

03 /

connect

With yourself. With nature. With the wild.

Remember through the memory the dolphins have been carrying since ancient times…

A ring of air rising towards a swimmer
The voice you already carry

You do not need to find the instrument

Long before it becomes song, the voice is breath taking shape inside the body.

It lives in the sigh that comes before words, in laughter, tenderness and longing, and in the changing melody through which one human being recognises another.

When you hum, the sound is not only heard. It may be felt around the lips, through the face, in the throat or behind the sternum. The body becomes both the source of the tone and the place where the tone returns.

Throughout the week, we will meet the voice gently — through humming, vowels, mantra, intuitive vocalisation, simple harmonies and moments when many individual tones begin to form one shared field of sound.

Listening is participation.

There is no expectation to sing alone or to create a particular kind of sound. Your voice may feel full, hesitant, quiet or unavailable on a given day.

Each of these experiences has a place within the journey.

Sound Healing

Vocal
Sound Healing

Sound Healing, here, is not a promise that a voice, bowl or frequency will cure an illness.

It is a carefully held environment in which breath, sound, vibration, attention and relationship can meet.

You may receive a sound bath. You may add a quiet hum to a shared field of sound. You may feel resonance in the face, chest or belly, or notice a gradual settling that is difficult to put into words.

Sometimes the experience is spacious.

Sometimes emotional.

Sometimes quietly physical.

Nothing dramatic needs to happen.

The science behind your voice

A hum changes more than the sound around you

It shapes the exhale, creates vibration through the face and chest and can markedly increase nasal nitric oxide. Shared singing can also influence breathing rhythm and the relationship between breath and heartbeat.

For those who would like to understand the physiology more deeply, the research is gathered below.

EXPLORE THE SCIENCE BEHIND VOICE

Breath becomes rhythm

Singing and humming naturally organise the exhale.

A vocal phrase usually asks the breath to leave the body with more continuity than ordinary speech. Slow chanting and mantra practices can therefore influence breathing rhythm and the relationship between breath and heart rate.

The response is individual.

Tempo, volume, effort and emotional context all matter. A soft hum may feel settling, while a strong or prolonged vocal practice may feel activating.

This is why intensity remains adjustable.

Humming and nitric oxide

The molecule studied in humming research is nitric oxide — NO.

It is not NO₃⁻, which is nitrate.

Nitric oxide is a signalling molecule involved in several physiological processes, including blood-vessel signalling and local airway function.

During humming, oscillating airflow appears to increase gas exchange between the paranasal sinuses and the nasal cavity. In a small physiological study, nasal nitric oxide measured during humming increased approximately fifteen-fold compared with quiet exhalation.

This is an interesting biological effect.

It is not evidence that humming cures respiratory, cardiovascular or other medical conditions.

Vibration becomes sensory information

A hum is heard through the ears and felt through the tissues of the body.

Many people notice vibration in the lips, face, throat, sternum or chest. This sensation can become a simple point of orientation:

Where is the sound comfortable?

How much breath is available today?

What changes when the volume becomes softer?

There is no correct sensation to achieve.

Voice is relational

Human voices communicate through more than words.

Pace, melody, volume and tone all contribute to how communication is received. Shared singing can create a common rhythm without requiring people to disclose personal stories.

It can allow many separate bodies to participate in one sound while remaining distinct.

A polyvagal-informed approach

The retreat is informed by polyvagal principles relating to perceived safety, social engagement, voice, prosody, pacing and choice.

Polyvagal theory is not used to diagnose participants or to promise that one practice will place every nervous system into the same state.

Instead, the framework is reflected in clear orientation, gradual transitions, adjustable intensity, consent and respect for individual responses.

Frequency: physics and poetry

In physics, sound frequency is measurable. It describes vibration cycles per second and is expressed in hertz.

In spiritual language, people may also use the word frequency to describe a felt quality of presence, atmosphere or relationship.

Both meanings may appear during this retreat.

We keep them distinct.

A spiritual or energetic experience can be deeply meaningful without being presented as a laboratory finding.

Science does not have to erase mystery.

Mystery does not have to pretend to be science.

The rhythm of the week

Shaped by the sea
Not by pressure

01 / MORNING / ARRIVE
A morning may begin quietly, with tea on the deck and one shared tone carried into the open air. After breakfast, the water team may invite us into the lagoon, where the shape of the day will depend on the sea and on the dolphins themselves.
02 / AFTERNOON / SOFTEN
Lunch may stretch into rest, conversation or silence. Salt dries on the skin. Someone reads in the shade. Someone else watches the horizon until the distinction between doing and simply being begins to soften.
03 / EVENING / RESONATE
As the light changes, we may gather again for sound, mantra, breathwork, meditation or ceremony.
Some evenings may be full of voices.

Others may need very little from us.

Both belong.

The programme is a menu of possibilities rather than a timetable to keep up with.

Several steady threads will hold the week:

01

Sharing & Orientation Circles

A place to arrive, listen and remain connected to the rhythm of the group. Helena and Adéla will hold the circles together.
02

Group Sounding & Singing

Humming, mantra, intuitive vocalisation and simple songs without performance pressure.
03

Breath Practice

Gentle breathing practices and optional regulatory journeys, chosen with attention to the capacity of the group.
04

Sound Healing

Voice and instruments woven into spaces for rest, resonance and embodied listening.
05

Blue Lotus Ceremony

An optional ceremonial space for eligible adults, led by Helena.
Around these central elements, Helena and Adéla may choose from a wider menu according to the sea, weather and the quality of the day.

The programme follows the group.

The group does not have to chase the programme.

DISCOVER THE PRACTICES

Regulatory 9D Breathwork

Led by Adéla.

A down-regulating adult journey using headphones, sound, voice guidance and breath.

It is not designed as a high-intensity or cathartic process. Participation is optional and subject to a short health and medication screening.

The breath may be slowed, changed or stopped at any point.

Yin Breathwork with Sound

Led by Helena.

A slower and more receptive breath practice held with music, sound and spacious guidance.

The emphasis is on listening rather than pushing.

Blue Lotus Ceremony

Led by Helena.

An optional adult ceremonial space devoted to intention, listening and connection.

The exact format, ingredients, suitability and medication considerations will be shared transparently before the retreat.

Choosing not to participate does not place anyone outside the group.

Environmental Constellations

Led by Adéla.

An experiential group practice inspired by Joanna Macy’s work, including Active Hope and The Work That Reconnects.

The practice explores relationship with the lagoon, coral reef, dolphins and other marine beings. It also asks how an individual experience of connection may become care, responsibility and action within a wider community.

The lagoon is approached not merely as a setting for human experience, but as a living ecosystem with value of its own.

Chakra Toning

The chakra system may be used as a spiritual and contemplative map for attention, imagery, vocal tone and resonance.

It is not presented as medical anatomy or diagnosis.

Sound Baths & Vocal Sound Healing

Voice and instruments create a layered environment of tone and vibration.

You may lie down, sit, move gently or change position.

Receiving sound does not require emotional release.

Rest is enough.

Choice is part of the practice

Nothing needs to be broken open

You may pause, observe, rest or choose silence. You may stay on the boat during a water session, leave a practice or decide not to share what you are experiencing.

Touch is never assumed. Emotional release is not required, and intensity is not treated as evidence of depth.

There is no need to keep pace with anyone else.

Your pace belongs here.
This journey may resonate with you

You may come
as you are

You feel drawn to the sea, wild dolphins, voice or sound.

You appreciate spiritual depth without rigid dogma, and you would like beauty, celebration and rest to be part of the experience rather than a reward that comes only after difficult inner work.

You are comfortable with a programme that remains responsive instead of fixed from morning until night.

You value consent, personal choice and respectful group space.

You may come alone, with a partner, a friend or your family.

Basic swimming skills, a willingness to follow the water team and respect for the freedom of wild animals are required.

Musical experience is not.

Previous breathwork or sound-healing experience is not.

You do not need to arrive fearless, expressive or ready to share your personal story.

Swimmers holding hands in a circle
Families
Children are welcome from age 12.

Children need regular swimming skills and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. A parent remains responsible for their child on the boat and in the water.

This is a family-welcoming retreat.

It is not a childcare programme.

Children may join selected age-appropriate sound, meditation and gentle breath practices. Regulatory 9D Breathwork and the Blue Lotus Ceremony are intended for adults.

A child is not expected to participate in every group session.

Play, rest and time with a parent are part of the week.

How this journey began

One circle of voices
One shared love of Egypt

Adéla and Helena met through the Vocal Sound Healer and Liberate Your Voice training with Daniel Coates, known as Suntara.

Helena had completed Suntara’s training several years earlier and later became a co-creator of selected events with him. Adéla joined the 2026 training after completing professional Sound Healing training in the Czech Republic.

Their meeting revealed a shared orientation:

Voice beyond performance.

Spirituality held in the body.

Depth without unnecessary force.

And a love of Egypt, water and the intelligence of the natural world.

SOUND · CELEBRATE · GLOW grew from a simple question:

What becomes possible when the human voice meets the living sea?

We create respectful opportunities to enter their environment. We do not guarantee sightings, proximity or interaction.

How often will we enter the water?
The intention is usually 2–3 guided water sessions per day.

This depends on weather, sea conditions, visibility, the water team and the presence and behaviour of the dolphins.

Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
Basic swimming ability is required.

Professional water guides provide orientation and support. Participants need to follow safety instructions and use appropriate snorkelling equipment.

A strong panic response around open water should be discussed before booking.

Can children attend?
Yes, from age 12, with regular swimming skills and a parent or legal guardian.

The retreat does not include childcare. Adult breathwork and the Blue Lotus Ceremony are not offered to children.

What language is the retreat held in?
The primary language is English.

Occasional Czech clarification may be available, but full simultaneous Czech translation will not be provided.

Is every practice compulsory?
No.

You may pause, observe, rest, remain silent or leave a session. You do not have to explain your decision.

Is the retreat trauma-informed?
The facilitation is informed by trauma-aware and polyvagal-informed principles, including choice, pacing, orientation and consent.

The retreat is not psychotherapy and does not replace medical, psychological or psychiatric care.

Is 9D Breathwork suitable for everyone?
No active breath practice is appropriate for every person.

Before participating, adults complete a brief health and medication form. Participation may be inappropriate or require medical clearance in cases including epilepsy, psychotic disorders, significant cardiovascular risk, recent major surgery, pregnancy or certain medications.

When should I book my flight?
Please wait for written travel guidance before purchasing a non-changeable ticket.

The current plan requires arrival at Marsa Alam International Airport no later than the morning of 6 April 2027.

Is this retreat a form of therapy?
No.

It is an educational, spiritual and experiential retreat.

Sound, breath, ceremony, travel and time in nature affect people differently. The retreat does not diagnose or treat physical or psychological illness and does not promise a permanent nervous-system reset or a specific emotional transformation.

Safety has priority over intensity.

Choice has priority over the programme.

20 / The closing invitation

Perhaps the answer will not arrive as a thought

It may come while you are looking at the blue of the lagoon, imagining the warmth of the deck beneath your feet or hearing a tone move slowly through a circle of voices.

It may feel like excitement.

It may feel like calm.

Or it may be no more than a little space opening inside — a sense that for one week, life could meet you through water, sound, companionship and the unhurried presence of the sea.

There is no need to make that feeling larger than it is.

The dolphins remain wholly themselves.

The sea receives every voice without measuring it.

And you are invited to arrive without becoming someone else first.
